The Lovereading comment:
Scottish Book Award 2010 winner - Young Readers (8-11) category.
Not for the faint hearted, this is a chilling horror stories for all those who love to be scared. Kyle gave up his imaginary friend years ago, so many years ago that he has forgotten all about him. But, when something attracts his attention by scratching on the ceiling, Kyle has to investigate. Mr Mumbles is no longer imaginary and it seems he is no longer a friend. In fact, Kyle has to keep his wits about him just to stay alive!
About The Author
Barry Hutchison was born and raised in the Highlands of Scotland. Despite this, he has never once tossed a caber, wrestled a haggis, or gone a-roamin’ in the gloamin’. He’s not even entirely sure what a gloamin’ is. An avid reader from a very early age, Barry spent most of his childhood with his nose buried in some book or another, and began writing his own novels when he was 10. Barry was 17 that he sold his first piece of written work, the comedy horror screenplay, Curse of the Bog Women.
It wasn’t until 2007 that Barry decided to turn his attention to children’s books, writing a number of books for Egmont, including several based on the Cartoon Network TV series, Ben 10.
Barry lives in Fort William in the Highlands with his partner, Fiona, and their two children, Kyle and Mia.
