Q: Why, as a school, should we register?

• Firstly, it's completely FREE. In fact the whole site is free to use after registration.
• You can create a web page unique to your school - [click here to register]
• You can create and personalise book lists - [click here to create book lists]
• To allow us to track sales of books to parents of children at your school and give you a £5 book voucher for £100 spent through your school's book site.

Q: Why do we ask you to verify your account?

We do this to ensure we have your correct details. Once we have verified your identity we can contact you and use the address you supply to send you your book vouchers.

Q: Why do parents need to register?

• To access the book lists that your school has created.
• So they can add your school's home page to their favourites list.
• To allow us to track their book purchases and send you £5 of book vouchers for every £100 spent.

Q: Why do parents need to add your school home page to their favourites list?

Once parents have added your school's page to their favourites, they will have easy 'one click' access to all the reading lists your school creates. All they need to do is click this button that they will see at the top of the school page.

To make it easy for parents all you have to do is let them have the URL that is shown on your schools account page. When parents click on / type in this special URL it will take them through a brief registration and then add your school to their ‘favourites section.

Q: How were the book lists created?

• Through our contacts in the schools market we approached a range of schools (primary and secondary) with strong performing English departments.
• We collated all their recommended reading lists into one list with over 2,500 books.
• Julia Eccleshare (children's editor at The Guardian) then edited them down into separate lists for each school year.
• The lists were reviewed by a small panel of schools that were helping with the beta site development. However, our lists are only the start at Lovereading4schools, and we're sure that not everyone will agree 100% with our choices. That's why we provide tools on the site to tailor our lists to your needs - or create lists from scratch. Q: How do I create book lists?

You will need to Login/Register to access this feature

It's very easy. You can use one of the template Lovereading lists. Or you can start with a Lovereading list, take out the books that aren't suitable for your school, and add ones that are. [click here to create a new list from Lovereading Template].

Alternatively, if you already have your own school reading list you can use our web tools to create an online version, making it incredibly easy for parents to access. You can search by title, or enter the ISBN number directly. [click here to create your own reading lists]

Q: How do I edit my book lists?

You will need to LOGIN/Register to access this feature

Adding/removing books is very straight forward. After LOGIN, click the blue ‘Create/Edit Book Lists’ button [insert picture of button]

You will see all the lists that you have created and five options for each:

• Preview – shows you the contents of the whole list
• Edit list name – allows you to change the name of the list
• Add book – allows you to add a book to your list (you will need to know the book title or its ISBN)
• Delete book from list – this allows you to remove books from the list
• Delete whole book list – N.B. Only use this function if you want to delete a whole list from your page.

Q: How can I change my account details?

Click here to LOGIN, then click the ‘Edit your school account’ button that can be found in the black ‘Your Account’ box on the left side of the screen.

Q: How can I add a password to the book lists I create?

If you didn’t set up a parent password on your school lists when you register it is very easy to add one later. Login to your school account. Click on the words ‘Password Settings’ in the Black box on the left hand side of the screen entitled "Your Account".

Enter the password you would like to use – press submit.

Q: What if I lose my account details?

When you register we send you an email with all the account details and passwords needed for LOGIN. If you cannot locate this, please see below.

If you have lost your school account password (the password you use to LOGIN as a school):
For security reasons we encrypt your password – even we can’t find it out. But don’t worry – just enter your email address in the ‘Forgotten Password’ section of the LOGIN page and click ‘reset password’. An email will be sent to you with easy instructions to reset your password.

If you have lost your book list password (this is the password that parents need to enter to access your book lists):

• LOGIN
• Click the ‘Password Settings’ button in the ‘Your Account’ box (left hand column)
• Enter a new password in both boxes and click ‘update’
• Please keep a note of this new password and let parents know of any changes

Q: How can we tell parents where to find the reading lists?

To make it easy for parents all you have to do is let them have the URL that is shown on your schools account page. When parents click on / type in this special URL it will take them through a brief registration and then add your school to their ‘favourites section. There are a number of ways depending on how you communicate with your parents:

1) If you have a school website

• Use the url link you will find on your school account page as the hyperlink from your schools web site
• You can also use some banners and buttons we have created to promote the book lists  - [click here] to see our downloadable resources. On the email you received at [click here to LOGIN]
• Please remember to tell parents they will need to register/LOGIN.  But if you use the url you can find on your schools account page this will be done automatically
• Please remember to let parents know about any passwords you may have put on the pages.

2) If you send information home to parents via pupils

Q: How can I see how many books have been sold and how much in book vouchers to expect from Lovereading4schools?

Q: What if I want to purchase books not available on the reading lists?

At present www.lovereading4schools.co.uk has been set up to allow parents and schools to purchase specific books - on the reading lists created by schools. It is not designed to replace school book suppliers.
